There was a long row of vegetable gardens behind the houses in this predominantly Asian neighborhood. This land belongs to the railroad but has been claimed as farmland. Weirdly enough this couple working in their field would not look at me even though I was walking by in my railroad fluorescent vest. Without eye contact I was unable to ask them to photograph. I don’t think I would eat anything grown here until I thoroughly tested the soil, but some of the plots were lovely.
