This place looks to have been a working farm. There were sheds for tools, chickens, horses and some sort of manufacturing. There were pens and loading ramps for livestock. There was no graffiti here and not much vandalism. But there was an eerie feeling, I felt that primal sense that I was being followed as I walked around photographing. There is a new, four lane, busy road going from the freeway past the front of the property leading to the new community college. I wonder if the owners were paid by the state to leave their farm. This farm was certainly here at least 70 years before their neighbor Sierra College, before this way of life was replaced by students speeding by to get to their classes so they wouldn’t have to lead this kind of life.
